I am a licensed Chiropractor, and a board certified clinical nutritionist. I have been in practice for over 20 years. When treating an individual, I look at the whole person, which includes the emotional, mental and spiritual as well as the physical bodies. No two people are alike and no two conditions have all the same symptoms, problems or sources.
I have trained in all aspects of naturopathic medicine including herbal medicIne, homeopathy, acupressure, lifestyle counseling and clinical nutrition. I have a Doctorate in Chiropractic, a Master of Science in Bio-Nutrition, a Master of Science in Metaphysical Science, and a Ph.D in Metaphysical Counseling. I am a Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist, a Certified GAPS Practitioner and I have also studied Applied Kinesiology, Sacro-Occipital Techniques, Cranio Sacral Technique, Total Body Modification (TBM), acupuncture, massage, herbology, and homeopathy.
Counseling
As a chiropractor I specialize by using Applied Kinesiology and Sacro-Occipital techniques. That means my techniques are very gentle, very effective and quite varied. I integrate acupressure in with my adjusting techniques so I do not need to use heavy manipulation.
Applied Kinesiology can be defined as the clinical application of the study of movement and function. It is functional neurology. The functional aberrations AK can identify are: Muscular, Neurological, Vascular, Osseous, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Digestive, Endocrine, and Acupuncture/Meridian systems.
The corrective procedures used to induce or restore normal function include, but are not limited to: a wide variety of chiropractic techniques including manual adjustments, instrument adjustments and SOT blocking, cranial techniques, therapeutic massage, reflex therapies, acupuncture, exercises and stretches, nutritional supplementation, emotional support or modalities and lifestyle changes. These are done with the goal of decreasing the problems that are interfering with the body’s ability to heal itself.
I firmly believe that if after 2-3 visits a patient is not responding to treatment there is a need to look elsewhere for the cause of the problem. When looking elsewhere, I refer to the diet, nutritional deficiencies, emotional problems or deep-seated emotional and spiritual beliefs.
As a nutritionist, I specialize in gastrointestinal problems but I also work with allergies, candida, digestive disturbance, chronic illnesses, etc. My goal is to find a diet that works for the body using muscle testing to find the foods the body wants or cannot tolerate at that time. I then integrate enzymes, herbs, vitamins, teas, etc., depending on what is required. I do not like using a lot of pills (but sometimes pills are the only way because of the deficiencies in the body). I have access to all the traditional and nontraditional medical laboratories so blood testing, saliva testing, and stool testing are all utilized to insure that we find the deep-rooted cause of the condition. I firmly believe that food is your best medicine, and the more natural the diet is the healthier. No one diet is for everyone!
When problems do not clear up or respond to the treatment, many times there is an emotional belief or attitude tying things up and keeping the body in dis-harmony. Through muscle testing and various questions, I can determine what the emotions are, what the problem is and when it started, thereby helping the person to heal the problem with love and harmony. Because at least 75% of physical problems are emotionally based, it is a good bet that if the emotions are addressed, any physical problems will begin to clear.
